Offers solutions for software and information quality management. We control quality in large software projects and technical documentations, find problems and suggest counter measures. DISA, the Linnaeus University Centre for Data Intensive Sciences and Applications uses data-driven methods to gain deeper knowledge and understanding in a variety of applications in engineering, science and the humanities. Linnaeus University Centres are the most excellent research environments at Linnaeus University.
The pervasive reach of ubiquitous sensors, cloud computing, high-speed networks, and massive storage gives us access to unprecedented volumes of data. Fueled by Large Language Models (LLMs) and foundation AI models, this data is continuously converted into actionable intelligence, driving unprecedented economic value—as demonstrated by modern tech giants and AI innovators worldwide. Big Data and generative models have fundamentally reshaped scientific research, revolutionizing how we form hypotheses, validate theories, and automate discovery across the natural, physical, and life sciences. Meanwhile, the humanities and social sciences are undergoing a paradigm shift: moving away from static, data-scarce studies toward dynamic, high-resolution simulations and AI-driven analyses of human thought, language, and social behavior.
IEC, the Information Engineering Center, was a non-commercial IT cluster in the Småland region of Sweden with partners from industry, academia and the public sector jointly working with knowledge, skills, and strategic competence in all fields of information and communication technology. It supported partners from industry and the public sector with cost-efficient competence management, provided access to research resources and opens business contacts and opportunities, and helped university partners in offering relevant course content and defining real world research cases.
IEC was one of the driving forces behind DISA and continues its work as the DigiTri association.
